Custom AI systems for growing businesses
The Right AI. For the Right Workflow. In the Right Environment.
We design and build practical AI applications, automated workflows, and system integrations for growing businesses — tailored to your operations, existing technology, and deployment requirements.
- Built around your workflows
- Connected to your systems
- Local, cloud or hybrid
Built around your tools.
We start from the systems you already use.
Runs where it should.
Local, cloud or hybrid, decided with you.
Your data rules first.
Where data is stored and who can access it.
A person reviews.
Review steps are agreed before anything is built.
You approve the plan.
Building starts only once you approve it.
Illustrative sample
Watch one workflow run. Slowly, one step at a time.
One sample insurance renewal, from the carrier email to the send button. Nothing moves until you press Start or use the arrows.
From: Sample carrier rep
Sample Pools LLC: renewal quotes attached
- PDFSample Carrier A
- PDFSample Carrier B
- PDFSample Carrier C
Step 1 of 5:
Email arrives with three carrier quotes.
A carrier rep sends the renewal quotes as PDFs, the way they always do.
Use the arrow keys to move between steps.
Built from two example workflows: Document processing and Email triage.
Business challenges
Where AI work usually stalls.
Growing businesses tend to meet the same four obstacles.
Repetitive work
Skilled people spend hours re-typing data, forwarding messages and chasing approvals.
Data silos
Customer, finance and operations data sit in systems that do not talk to each other.
Adoption barriers
Tools that do not fit how the team already works end up unused.
Pilots that do not scale
A promising pilot never reaches daily operations, or stops working outside the test.
Services
Five services. One team.
Strategy, engineering, integration and deployment in the same hands, so nothing gets lost between them.

Deployment
Runs where it should.
Local, cloud or hybrid. Choose a pattern to see how it works.
Data and processing stay on infrastructure you control.
Approved cloud services handle the processing.
Sensitive steps run locally; other work uses approved cloud services.
Local
Data and processing stay on infrastructure you control.
- Best suited for
- Strict data-residency or confidentiality rules, or a preference to keep AI work in-house.
- Data location
- Your own servers or private environment, as set out in the design.
- Processing location
- On your hardware. Which models can run depends on its capacity.
- Maintenance
- Hardware capacity, upgrades and backups. Who does what is set out in the support agreement.
Cloud
Approved cloud services handle the processing.
- Best suited for
- Teams that want to start quickly, scale with usage and keep upkeep low.
- Data location
- Approved cloud resources, in accounts and regions agreed with you.
- Processing location
- Cloud AI models and managed services.
- Maintenance
- Providers run the infrastructure. Responsibilities are set out in hosting and support agreements.
Hybrid
Sensitive steps run locally; other work uses approved cloud services.
- Best suited for
- Organizations with a mix of sensitive and routine work.
- Data location
- Split by sensitivity: sensitive data stays local, other data may go to approved cloud resources.
- Processing location
- Local filtering and processing first; only permitted data and tasks go to the cloud.
- Maintenance
- Two environments to maintain and monitor. Responsibilities are assigned for each part.
The pattern for your project is decided only after Technical Discovery. Compare deployment patterns
Use cases
Example workflows.
Everyday tasks where AI takes on the repetitive steps and your team keeps the final say.
Email triage
Sort a shared inbox, flag what is urgent and prepare draft replies for your team to approve.
Human review
A team member reviews and edits every draft. Nothing is sent without their approval.
Document processing
Pull the key fields out of invoices, contracts and forms, check them and send them to the right place.
Human review
Exceptions and high-risk items, such as uncertain fields, unusual amounts or contract terms, go to a person before anything is recorded.
Lead intake
Turn website and form enquiries into clean CRM records with a follow-up task for the right person.
Human review
A salesperson confirms who follows up, and how, before the customer is contacted.
Reporting automation
Collect figures from approved data sources, draft the regular report and flag anything unusual.
Human review
The report owner checks the key numbers and the commentary before it is shared.
How we work
Four stages, one team.
01
Discover
We learn how the work runs today, which systems and data are involved, and what a good result looks like.
02
Design
We propose the solution, the deployment pattern and where people review the work, in a Scoped Proposal.
03
Build
We build, connect and test the system against your real workflow, with your team checking along the way.
04
Deploy & Support
We deploy into the agreed environment, support go-live and keep the system maintained.
Discovery and design come first. Building starts only once you approve the Scoped Proposal.
Why LayerWell
Built for how growing businesses work.
End to end
Strategy, engineering, integration and deployment from one team, without hand-offs between vendors.
Sized for growing businesses
Start with one workflow that matters, see it working, then extend it.
Deployment you choose
Local, cloud or hybrid, decided with you after Technical Discovery.
Works with your systems
We connect to the CRM, inbox, documents and data you already use instead of replacing them.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
What businesses usually ask before a first call.
How is a project priced?
Each project is quoted in a Scoped Proposal after Technical Discovery, based on the agreed scope. Ongoing support is scoped and quoted separately.
How long does a project take?
It depends on the scope, your systems and your data. We agree a timeline in the Scoped Proposal before any work starts, often beginning with a single workflow.
How do you handle security and our data?
We design around your data rules: what data is involved, where it may be stored and processed, and who can access it. The deployment pattern is chosen with that in mind, and people review sensitive steps. No pattern is secure by default, so we check these points before recommending one.
Who maintains the system after launch?
We can maintain and support the system after go-live under a support plan. What it covers, and who does what, is agreed with you and quoted separately.
Do we need to replace our current software?
Usually not. We start from the systems you already use and connect to them where their APIs and licences allow. We confirm what can be connected before committing.
