Deployment
Local, cloud or hybrid.
Three ways the AI systems we build with you can run. Each one trades off where your data lives, who maintains it and what it costs.
These patterns describe AI solutions for your business. They are not how this website is hosted.
Local
on-premisesData and processing stay on infrastructure you control.
- Data location
- Your own servers or private environment, as set out in the design.
- Processing location
- On your hardware. Which models can run depends on its capacity.
- Third-party services
- Usually fewer. Any that remain, such as model licences or remote support, are confirmed during design.
- Human review
- Can be configured: a person reviews or approves results before they are used.
- Maintenance
- Hardware capacity, upgrades and backups. Who does what is set out in the support agreement.
- Cost
- Upfront hardware and setup. Availability depends on your infrastructure.
- Best suited for
- Strict data-residency or confidentiality rules, or a preference to keep AI work in-house.
Cloud
managedApproved cloud services handle the processing.
- Data location
- Approved cloud resources, in accounts and regions agreed with you.
- Processing location
- Cloud AI models and managed services.
- Third-party services
- Yes. Each provider's terms, data retention and access rights are checked first.
- Human review
- Can be configured: a person reviews or approves results before they are used.
- Maintenance
- Providers run the infrastructure. Responsibilities are set out in hosting and support agreements.
- Cost
- Usage-based fees and little upfront hardware. Availability depends on each provider's service.
- Best suited for
- Teams that want to start quickly, scale with usage and keep upkeep low.
Hybrid
split by sensitivitySensitive steps run locally; other work uses approved cloud services.
- Data location
- Split by sensitivity: sensitive data stays local, other data may go to approved cloud resources.
- Processing location
- Local filtering and processing first; only permitted data and tasks go to the cloud.
- Third-party services
- For the cloud part only. The data path across the boundary has to be clearly defined.
- Human review
- Can be configured: a person reviews or approves results before they are used.
- Maintenance
- Two environments to maintain and monitor. Responsibilities are assigned for each part.
- Cost
- Some hardware plus usage-based fees. Availability depends on both environments.
- Best suited for
- Organizations with a mix of sensitive and routine work.
No pattern is safe by default.
Local is not automatically secure.
Keeping data on-site does not by itself make a system secure or compliant. That depends on access, configuration and upkeep.
Cloud is not automatically unsafe.
With the right providers, terms and settings, cloud services can meet strict requirements. We check them before recommending one.
Hybrid needs a clear boundary.
A split design does not prove that sensitive data never leaves your environment. The data path has to be designed and verified.
Decided in Technical Discovery.
The deployment pattern for your project is decided only after Technical Discovery. This page describes general patterns. It is not a commitment, a quote or a security guarantee.
Before we recommend a pattern, we confirm:
- What data is involved, and its confidentiality and residency rules.
- Which systems, tools and APIs can be connected.
- Whether your vendors allow third-party processing, and how long they keep data.
- Budget, availability and business-continuity needs.
- Who approves changes, plus logging, backup and disaster recovery.
- Where people review results, and who can access what.
Not sure which pattern fits?
Tell us about your data and your systems. We will walk through the trade-offs with you before anything is decided.
